Kauffman Stadium, also knows as "The K", was built in 1973 specifically for baseball during an era when building multisport and cookie-cutter stadiums was commonplace. It's still regarded as one of the best examples of modernist stadium design. With it's signature Crown Vision and soaring Fountains, it's a beautiful ballpark to watch baseball. The K is the only ballpark in the American League to be named after a person, Ewing Kauffman, who was the founder and first owner of the Royals. Kauffman Stadium is the sixth oldest stadium in the majors.
